Being an adolescent is never easy. Young people are subject to intense pressure by their peers to fit in and as a result may engage in behavior and activities that can result in them getting into trouble with the law and having a need for criminal defense in Tennessee. Behavioral and legal issues can stay with a person forever and may limit one’s choices in adulthood.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with robbing a pizza delivery driver. According to the police report, the driver said he was preparing to make deliveries when a when a blue sedan pulled behind him. The 15-year-old allegedly got out of the sedan, pulled a gun and told the driver to give him everything. The pizza delivery man turned over the pizzas, his cell phone and some money. At that point the boy allegedly got into the sedan driven by a supposed accomplice who drove away.

The teen was later arrested for fighting and was identified as the possible thief regarding the pizzas. He was reportedly carrying a stolen hand gun at the time of his arrest. Officers claimed that the boy admitted to robbing the pizza delivery driver. At last report he was being held in juvenile detention.

Being arrested and charged with a crime can be scary for anyone but may be particularly scary for a young person. An adolescent confronted with an unfamiliar situation and unfamiliar surroundings may not react as one normally would. Any person in Tennessee facing such a situation should seek the advice of a criminal defense attorney who is experienced in dealing with juvenile cases. A knowledgeable attorney can advise the client as to one’s rights and what legal options are available under the law.
